With two decades of experience as communications and marketing leader, Katie is an award-winning executive who has successfully led communications and marketing across many global industries. She brings this expertise and experience to her role as a consultant and strategist for THE COLLECTIVE’s clients that span across nonprofit, Fortune 1000 and small to medium for-profit businesses.

Katie is the recipient of awards from PR Week and Ragan Communications, in recognition of her contributions to communications excellence.

Beyond communications and marketing, she led, created and developed diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and curriculum for a Fortune 1000 global pharmaceutical company.

Katie resides in the Greater Boston area, but is a tried-and-true Chicagoan, having spent most of her life in the Second City. When not cheering for the Chicago Cubs or talking about how much she misses Chicago-style food, she spends her time serving her local community as a member of the Board of Directors for a local education foundation, and as Co-Pastor of NewCity Church with her husband, Reverend Devlin Scott.

Katie and Devlin have two incredible kids and two amazing dogs.

PhilI is an award-winning graphic designer and video producer who has successfully led creative teams across for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

Passionate about giving access and inspiration to the next generation of creatives, Phil dedicates his time and expertise as a teacher and mentor to those interested in pursuing a career in the creative arts, as he believes it’s never too late to start something new!

Phil resides in the Greater Chicago area. In his free time, you can find Philip on the golf course, at a Taylor Swift concert, or recording a new episode for his YouTube channel. He also invests much of his time serving his local church as the lead guitarist.

Phil and his wife, Anna have two kids, Olivia and Camden.

CONSULTANT

Addea Amoa is an experienced employee and change communication professional, who brings over 20 years of experience helping people at work to feel informed, connected, and purposeful; and organizations to drive performance.

Addea is a Fellow and member of the Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC). She has a deep passion for fostering effective communication and engagement and has amassed a wealth of experience working with senior leadership teams to listen, build trust, and develop compelling narratives.

Addea lives in London with her partner and 10-year-old daughter. Outside of work, she enjoys all things art and design-related, listening to music, podcasts, and audiobooks, going to concerts, and playing tennis.

Oscar is a Graphic Designer and Content Creator based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in crafting brands and narratives that evoke passion and inspiration.

He thrives on collaboration, believing that strong connections with clients are essential for producing outstanding designs. From polished logos to compelling campaigns, Oscar transforms concepts into artistic expressions.

In addition to design, storytelling is a cornerstone of his work. Throughout his career, he has conceptualized and produced captivating video content, enriching brand narratives and captivating diverse audiences.

Oscar's expertise extends beyond static design, enabling him to create dynamic and impactful content for conferences and organizational storytelling initiatives alike.

Outside of work, Oscar cherishes his family, his faith, and his interests in Disney World, Marvel, and enjoying a good drink.

CURRICULUM & EDUCATIONAL TRAINING PARTNER

Dr. Tamekia Scott (she/her), Founder of Edquity-Minded Consulting, LLC, brings over 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, specializing in equity and access. Her expertise spans training, audits, investigations, and leadership development, with a focus on supporting communities that have been marginalized. Holding a doctorate in Education with a research emphasis on race and gender in leadership from Northern Illinois University, she has authored multiple books on career advancement and communities of support for Black women, reflecting her commitment to advancing equity.

Dr. Scott has also served in federally mandated roles, shaping discrimination policies and supporting individuals who have experienced misconduct. With a master’s in Counseling and a bachelor's in Psychology, both from Southern Illinois University, she combines academic rigor with practical experience to drive organizational change and empower individuals to reach new heights in their careers.

As an executive mindset coach, Tamekia approache learning as more than simply acquiring knowledge; to her, t's about growth and empowerment both in one’s professional and personal life.

Random fun — Tamekia loves watching YouTube videos of camping, although she would never go camping - because she and bugs just don’t get along.

Edgar, a Bilingual Senior Video Producer with 8 years of experience in video production, specializes in content creation, development, production, and delivery. His diverse background includes work for both Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations. An award-winning, effective leader, Edgar is flexible and able to manage change quickly to deliver results under pressure. He currently serves on two executive boards and is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders. With a servant mindset, Edgar offers organizations a creative and professional experience, aiming to make a meaningful contribution to their success.

Edgar, who resides in the Greater Chicago area, is not just a Senior Video Producer. In his free time, you can find him on the golf course, watching soccer, or preparing for a youth event. His dedication extends beyond his professional life as he invests significant time serving as a Bi-Vocational pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church, a role he is deeply passionate about.

Edgar and his wife, Jocelyn, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child in the Fall of 2024. They also share their home with two furbabies, Toby and Bailey.
